Getting Started
Quick Start Guide
- Install the Guide Extension: Install E-Z Pointer Guide from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons
- Install the Worker App: The person receiving guidance downloads the free Worker app for macOS or Windows
- Start a Session: The guide clicks the extension icon and starts a session to get a unique code
- Join the Session: The worker enters the code in the Worker app and clicks Join
- Activate on Google Meet: The guide activates the overlay on their Google Meet tab and begins pointing and drawing

Licensing

Session Management
- Session codes are simple 10-character codes (XXX-XXXX-XXX)
- Share the code with your worker via chat, email, or verbally
- End the session from the extension popup when finished
- Session data is ephemeral and deleted when the session ends

Internet Connection
Required: Both guide and worker need a stable internet connection for real-time synchronization.
Google Meet
The guide must be on a Google Meet call with screen sharing active for the overlay to work.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the worker need to pay anything?
No. The Worker app is completely free. Only the guide (the person giving directions) needs a subscription for unlimited sessions. Workers can join any session at no cost.
Which browsers are supported?
The E-Z Pointer Guide extension works on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (version 88 or later).
How do I activate my Pro license?
- After subscribing, you will receive a license key via email from Lemon Squeezy
- Click the E-Z Pointer extension icon in your browser
- Enter your license key in the license field
- Pro features are activated instantly
Can I use E-Z Pointer without Google Meet?
Currently, E-Z Pointer is designed to work with Google Meet screen sharing. The extension detects the Meet call and aligns the pointer overlay with the shared screen content. Support for other platforms may be added in the future.
The pointer is not appearing on the worker's screen. What should I do?
- Make sure both guide and worker have a stable internet connection
- Verify the worker entered the correct session code
- Ensure the guide has clicked "Activate" on the Google Meet tab
- Check that screen sharing is active in the Google Meet call
- Try ending and starting a new session
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your Lemon Squeezy account dashboard. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period. See our Refund Policy for details.
Is my data secure?
Yes. E-Z Pointer does not collect any personal data. Session data (pointer coordinates and drawing strokes) is ephemeral and automatically deleted when the session ends. We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication, so no sign-up is required. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I request a refund?
Yes. You can request a full refund within 7 days of your first payment. We also encourage using the free tier to try E-Z Pointer before subscribing. See our Refund Policy for full details.
